Markevitch, Igor
Igor Markevitch (July 27, 1912 – March 7, 1983) was a Ukrainian-born composer and conductor who later became both an Italian and a French citizen. Having performed and recorded extensively with prestigious orchestras worldwide, Igor Markevitch returned to Russia in 1960 at the height of his powers, where he made a great impression on the musical elite.
